Summer Retreat

Theme:  Discovering Our Prayerful Balance: Remaining Socially and Pastorally Engaged... with Contemplative Awareness

Director: Fr. Trevor Scott, s.j.

Drawing upon the contemplative wisdom and perception of the founder of the Jesuit religious order, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, as a fully engaged person in the world, together with more contemporary Christian prayer, thought and imagination, this summer retreat will prayerfully ponder how we may balance busy, socially engaged lives with greater prayerful rootedness. During this time of personal reflection we will prayerfully ponder how St. Ignatius and other more contemporary Christian wisdom figures, with depth of faith and imagination, looked upon and acted within the world, filled with many social concerns and needs, with prayerful discernment and response. The aspiration of this retreat will be to cultivate the grace to remain fully engaged in the concerns and needs of our world, as Christ calls us to be, with a consoling contemplative disposition.
